Jean-François has been sailing since his childhood.
Born in north of Brittany in France, his sea playground was huge and well explored!
He has sailed on various family boats, crossing the Channel so often to see his English neighbours or heading south to visit the Spanish ones.
He has fully enjoyed exploring the thousands of islands & coves of the whole Atlantic coast.
Naturally when growing up, Jean-François came into the racing world and has multiple experiences in this field.
For more than 7 years he participated in chilly winter trainings in Pornichet and eventually became a sailing instructor for young sailors.
His love of sailing has encouraged him to constantly improve his knowledge of the sea. He participated in the Cruise race “la Barquera” 7 times, and in 2001 he joined “la Grande Largue Presse Ocean”. In 2002 he participated in the FIREMAN Cup and the “SPI Ouest France”, all famous races along the French coast.
He has done 4 transatlantic crossings including one solo crossing.
After 2 summer charter seasons in the Mediterranean, specifically around Corsica & Greece, he decided in 2004 to change his life and sail year round in sunny waters! He set sail for the Caribbean where he met his wife – Dany PRATESI. They have settled their lives in Martinique and have never looked back.
Working together as a team on several charter boats, mostly catamarans, mostly Lagoon 570, Bahia 46 and Privilege 585 “MATIRA” & “TIPUTA”, they are now very proud to take over “MOTU”.
They are consumate professionals and entirely dedicated to their guests. They are both very gentle and generous people who sincerely enjoy meeting new people.
They will make special efforts to share what they really adore, the Caribbean life and its beautiful surroundings from the sea, with their guests.

Dany has a University diploma in geography & sciences and is a qualified special educator of children.
She started work in France in various fields including care of the mentally handicapped in specialized social centers and the educational care of orphans.
She is a very hard worker, and she never stops moving forward.
Her father’s Italian origins are deeply anchored in her heart and have never been completely swallowed by her mother's French side! These 2 cultures combined give her a natural gifted hand for fresh and tasty cuisine!
What started as a hobby soon became a real career. She started to work as Hostess/Chef on yachts in 1998 and never stopped.
She has always been loved by all the crews she has worked with for her constant good mood, kindness and professional skill. She is now working exclusively in the past years with the captain she prefers and who became her husband, Jean-François.
She has worked on numerous crewed charter yachts, including Bonavista, Privilege 65, Chrysalis, Matira & Tiputa, Privilege 585 and now MOTU.
With Jean-François she has cruised throughout the Caribbean from the Virgin Islands to the coast of Venezuela, sharing his passion for the sea.
